Eclipse's knowledgebase and enhancement requests
Eclipse's knowledgebase and enhancement requests
Rather than having this section in the forum would it not be better to ask Eclipse to open up their knowledge base in the client area so people can see how various issues have been resolved and what enhancement requests have been made by the community? It is not unusual for the likes of Microsoft and Oracle to provide this type of information to their users. It would help Eclipse too, as users would be able to resolve many issues themselves by having recourse to this type of information.

Re: Eclipse's knowledgebase and enhancement requests
Hi Rajeev,
Eclipse have their "FAQ" section on the client area which lists many of the common queries they get asked at support. They say it is updated on a regular basis but you are right - it's not their entire support database - I can imagine significant intellectual property is contained within it that their clients would not be happy disclosing!
It'd be great if Eclipse would open up their enhancement request list - users could then guide development towards the most useful/pertinent features.

Re: Eclipse's knowledgebase and enhancement requests
Thanks Steve for bringing me up to speed on a number of issues.
I was wondering whether Eclipse publishes a product roadmap to give a feel for the future direction of Proclaim. Or is this something which they discuss with their clients on non-disclosure basis?
