Importing Base64

Post by revellbikes » Mon Jan 30, 2017 3:50 pm

I'm looking to import a Base64 encoded document using the import/export utility. I've done this through Web Services in the past but not sure on the exact process using the standard import/export program and an XML template.

I assume I need to use the BlobType= data description that's detailed in the Appendix in the Tech 4 manual. No real detail given on how to use it though?

Any help much appreciated!

Did you ever manage to find a solution to this? I am in a similar position currently, where I am importing a base64 encoded document from an XML. I have tried using BlobType=PDF in the field description as per the Tech 4 manual, but this seemingly does nothing..

I do something similar coming from a web service but I have to rename the result,
if op-exp is the returning base64 variable, make sure to include the deleted file line otherwise it doesn't work

v-file = TEXT( op-exp ) + ".pdf"
RENAME-FILE( op-exp , v-file )
PUT( v-file , {embeddeddocField.Document code} )
DELETE-FILE( v-file )
