File Naming Convention

Post by beech13-k »

Hi and hello.
My first time on here!
I have been asked to enforce a file naming convention within case matter history; is this something that any of you had to do and if so how have you gone about it?
Many thanks and I look forward to receiving your responses

Hello,

I think we'll need a bit more detail around what you're trying to achieve, perhaps starting with what the convention is?

Are you referring to the freetype box for 'History Details'?

Thanks for coming back to me.

Initially the answer to you question is, 'yes'. We have users who continually just leave the history details to that of the template name which seems to annoy other fee earners that have to work on their files. ie. Blank letter to client is a common one along with the blank letter to any correspondent.

Whilst it's possible to code a solution to check history details, it'd be quite the under taking. And ultimately not worth the hassle. You would be better off with training your staff and pulling off weekly history reports highlighting any offenders.
