ODBC Connection String

Post by enthusiastp »

Hi All

Anyone got any tips on which ODBC driver would be best to query live Proclaim DB, and an example connection string (with omitted data of course). Having difficulties connecting. Got the credentials, it's just being annoying when adding as a Linked Server in SSMS. Can't tell whether its the driver I'm using, the connection string or a firewall problem with the port. Online suggests port 9999 but not sure this is correct?

Tried various combinations of the below KB but didn't get very far

Hi

We paid Eclipse a couple of hundred per driver to set up three read-only ODBC for us (one each for the three databases - Proclaim, Accounts and KPIs), so I now have them as three linked servers in Enterprise Manager, can use OpenQuery etc. to directly interrogate the databases.

(not sure if that helps you or not)
